Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Boxing Timer Round ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our iOS application. We have built the App to collect as little personal data as possible.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not require an account. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
Your physical location, GPS coordinates, or IP address
Your photos, contacts, calendar, microphone, or camera content
Your browsing history, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or device fingerprint
Health, fitness, or biometric data

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following preferences using iOS's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly sync it via your iCloud backup:

Whether you have completed the onboarding flow
Whether you have unlocked Pro features (cached for offline use)
Your custom workout configuration (round/rest length, number of rounds)
Your sound, haptic, and bell preferences
The number of workouts you have completed and your daily usage count (used solely to enforce the free-tier daily limit on-device)

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers Pro features through:

Pro Yearly — an auto-renewable subscription with a 7-day free trial
Pro Lifetime — a one-time non-consumable purchase

All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see, store, or have access to your payment card, Apple ID password, or billing details. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction itself: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

RevenueCat (subscription management)

To verify subscription status across devices, manage receipts, and unlock Pro features, we use RevenueCat as our subscription infrastructure provider. When you make or restore a purchase, the following limited information is shared with RevenueCat:

An anonymous, randomly-generated app user ID ($RCAnonymousID:...) that cannot be linked back to your identity
The receipt of your purchase, signed by Apple
Your country and storefront (so we display the correct currency)
Your device's iOS version and the App's version (for diagnostics)

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, Apple ID, or payment card information. Their data handling is described in their privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.

4. Notifications

The App schedules local notifications to alert you when a round, rest period, or warning interval ends. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. We do not send remote/push notifications and we do not collect a push token.

5. Audio

The App plays bell sounds bundled with the application binary. We do not access your microphone, do not record audio, and do not transmit any sound to any server.

6. Crash Reporting (Sentry)

To detect and fix bugs that affect real users, the App uses Sentry as a crash- and error-reporting service. When the App encounters a JavaScript exception, a native iOS crash, or an unhandled promise rejection, the following technical information is sent to Sentry:

The error type, message, and call stack (no source code itself, just symbol names — e.g. TimerScreen.handleStart)
The App version, the iOS version, the device model (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro), and the language
An anonymous installation ID generated by Sentry that cannot be linked back to your identity

Sentry does not receive your IP address (we have disabled IP storage), Apple ID, name, email, contacts, location, photos, microphone, or any data you have entered into the App. Network errors caused by transient connectivity issues are filtered out before sending.

7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

The App uses Amplitude for product analytics (e.g. which screens you open, when you start a workout, when the paywall is shown). Amplitude receives:

Anonymous device identifiers and session IDs generated by the analytics SDK
App version, device model, OS version, and language
Product interaction events (e.g. workout_started, paywall_shown) — no workout content, names, or health data

We do not send your Apple ID, email, name, contacts, location, photos, or microphone data to Amplitude. IP address collection is disabled in our Amplitude configuration. Amplitude's privacy policy: https://amplitude.com/privacy.

The App does not display advertisements, does not embed any advertising SDK, and does not track you across other apps or websites operated by other companies. Sentry (described above) is used solely for crash detection and is not a product-analytics service.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect no personal data from any user, COPPA's data-collection restrictions are not triggered.

9. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal information for you to access, correct, or delete on our servers. You can:

Reset all locally-stored preferences by deleting and reinstalling the App.
Manage your subscription, view your purchase history, or request a refund directly through Apple at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Request that RevenueCat delete the anonymous receipt data associated with your subscription by contacting us (see below); we will forward the request.
Request that Sentry delete the anonymous crash records associated with your installation ID by contacting us; we will forward the request.
Request that Amplitude delete analytics data associated with your device by contacting us; we will forward the request.

10. Data Retention

Locally stored preferences remain on your device until you delete the App or reset its data. Subscription receipt records held by RevenueCat are retained for the lifetime of the subscription plus a reasonable period to support refunds, restores, and tax reporting. Crash records held by Sentry are retained for 90 days. Analytics events held by Amplitude are retained according to Amplitude's default retention (typically up to several years unless deleted on request).

11. International Transfers

RevenueCat, Sentry, and Amplitude process data in the United States. By using the App you consent to this transfer.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, in third-party services, or in applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted within the App.
