Privacy Policy

Amio · Last updated August 2026

Short version: Amio doesn't require an account and doesn't sell your data. The photos you choose stay on your device and are never uploaded. To write your reading, we send your quiz answers and scores — never your photos, name, or contact details — to our server, where an AI language model turns them into text.

What we collect

Amio is designed to work without a user account. We collect as little as possible:

The Ask feature

When you type a question about your match, that text is sent to our server and processed by an AI provider to produce an answer. Please don't include personal details you wouldn't want processed (like full names or contact information) — the reading works without them. Questions are not used to build a profile of you and are not sold or shared for advertising.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are sold and processed by the app store you downloaded Amio from — the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details; the store manages billing, renewals, and refunds under your Apple ID or Google account. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your store settings (on iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions; on Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions).

To keep your premium status in sync across devices we use RevenueCat as our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives your store purchase receipts and an anonymous app-user identifier — never your name, email, or store account — solely to tell the app whether premium is active.

Third-party services

We use trusted third parties only to operate the app: Apple (App Store subscriptions), Google (Google Play subscriptions), RevenueCat (subscription management), Amplitude (anonymous usage analytics), Cloudflare (serving our reading service), and OpenAI (generating reading text from the anonymous inputs described above). These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

Data retention

Data stored locally (your history and preferences) remains on your device until you clear it in the app or uninstall Amio. Server-side reading caches are keyed by an anonymous hash and expire automatically (within about 30 days). You are always in control of your local data.

Children

Amio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because we don't hold an account-linked profile about you, the simplest way to remove your data is to clear your history in the app or uninstall it. For any questions about your data, contact us below.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
